FACE TO FACE WITH COMFORT
ZANOTTA AND MONICA ARMANI PRESENT RONDEVÙ AND RONDEVÙ VIS À VIS
July 17, 2026

With Rondevù and Rondevù vis à vis, Zanotta inaugurates its first collaboration with Monica Armani: a partnership that enriches the Italian company’s catalogue with a project that is both essential and distinctive, capable of expressing compositional rigour and a strong vocation for hospitality.
Rondevù is an armchair with soft, welcoming lines, designed to integrate naturally into a variety of settings, from domestic interiors to contract spaces. The design originates from a simple and continuous compositional gesture: a curved line that turns, returns and creates an intimate space that embraces the body. The backrest, characterised by its cylindrical section, envelops the guest while engaging in dialogue with the exposed frame, achieving a balance between discreet presence and strong recognisability.

The outer cover is removable and available in either fabric or leather. The legs and backrest knobs are crafted from ash wood and are available in oak-stained, mocha-stained, or open-pore lacquered finishes in talc, orange, amaranth and black.
“In my creative process, I always strive to arrive at forms that are essential, almost inevitable, where every element has a precise reason for being. It is what I define as a kind of ‘equation of details’: a balance in which every line, proportion and joint contributes to the overall quality of the object. My aim is to create objects that speak a simple yet refined language — essential yet elegant, functional and enduring. Objects that can integrate seamlessly with both the space and the people who inhabit it, bringing an authentic emotion that is destined to outlast the moment.” — Monica Armani

This same concept evolves in Rondevù vis à vis, where one curve meets another, creating a natural setting for conversation: two seats designed to sit side by side, fostering an intimate and convivial atmosphere.
Rondevù and Rondevù vis à vis are seating pieces that inhabit a space with lightness — recognisable without being intrusive, comfortable without compromising on formal elegance.
A project that perfectly reflects Zanotta’s design ethos: the ability to create furniture and furnishings destined to stand the test of time, not only through their quality of craftsmanship, but also through the sense of authenticity they convey to those who choose them.

MONICA ARMANI
Monica Armani, born in Trento, is an architect and designer who has built her own design language by intertwining memory and innovation. The daughter of Marcello Armani, one of the leading figures of Italian rationalism since the 1960s, she inherited from him a disciplined creative process aimed at achieving a balance between beauty and function. Today, Monica continues this exploration, reinterpreting archetypes to design the future. At her side is Luca Dallabetta, her partner in life and work, and the manager of the Studio. Together, they have developed a design method that combines rationality and intuition, experimentation and rigor, transforming every idea into a unique project where nothing is left to chance. They have defined this approach as “Design in Molecules”: an alchemy of elements that blends MAGIC and LOGIC. The success of each of their designs stems from the disciplined and conscious application of this formula. Monica’s rigorous and elegant style has won over some of the most prestigious companies in the design world. Her internationally awarded projects have become bestsellers and a benchmark for design enthusiasts.
