Nova Milanese, June 2025 - Zanotta presents Zymmo, a collection of pouffes and side tables characterised by essential forms and radical design, created by Canadian artist Christian Woo. Born from a genuine dialogue between form and function, Zymmo introduces Woo’s aesthetic to the world of living for the first time, embodying a harmonious encounter between the artist’s artisanal sensibility and the company’s manufacturing expertise.

“My studio fosters an intimate relationship with our products throughout the design and hand-fabrication process. Each piece is handcrafted, embracing a philosophy centred on timeless, modern design, beautifully executed. Zanotta’s merging of the principles of craftsmanship with innovative industrial processes is a natural evolution for this collection,” says Christian Woo

Clean lines, balanced proportions and tactile surfaces make Zymmo a versatile offering, effortlessly suited to refined, contemporary spaces. The Zymmo collection comprises two small tables: one smaller in size, ideal as a side table and easily positioned in various points throughout the space; and a larger one, designed to serve as a coffee table, either as a standalone piece or elegantly combined with other furnishings. Completing the collection are two poufs: the first, smaller and more versatile, adapts effortlessly to a range of functional needs, while the second, more generously proportioned, asserts itself as a focal point that brings character to its surroundings.

The side tables and pouffes Zymmo feature an MDF structure veneered with open-pore lacquered ash wood, available in five different colours versions: talc, caramel, algae, amaranth and black.

The pouf’s seat is made of polyurethane padding, partly derived from plant-based polyols. The upholstery, available in fabric or leather, is fully removable – a practical feature that allows for easy maintenance and, above all, the opportunity to refresh the product’s appearance without altering its structure.

I believe in creating bold, timely elemental components that are not based on trends, but rather rooted in the simple honesty of geometry., Classic compositions, exceptionally well executed and free from visual or contextual noise, result in enduring beauty,” says Christian Woo

A collection designed to stand the test of time, inhabiting space with understated elegance. With Zymmo, Zanotta reaffirms its role as a leading voice in international design, championing a design culture that values formal research and expressive authenticity. The collaboration with Christian Woo reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to discovering and supporting new talents on the contemporary scene, fostering a creative dialogue that continues to evolve while remaining true to its historic identity.

About Zanotta

Zanotta is driven by passion, supported by a pioneering approach, and inspired by radical design ideas. Since 1954, Zanotta has shaped the landscape of Italian design with its innovation and creativity. Starting in the bespoke upholstered sector, it quickly evolved into the design of furniture, collaborating with great masters of Italian design such as Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, Gae Aulenti, Marco Zanuso, among others. Zanotta revolutionised the concept of furniture, creating iconic and innovative pieces that challenge traditional conventions. The company stands out for its ability to anticipate trends and transform the ordinary into the extraordinary, encouraging designers to break patterns and preconceived notions. Zanotta has been awarded prestigious accolades in the field of design, including the Compasso d'Oro, and its collection is exhibited in some of the most important museums around the world, from the MoMA in New York to the Centre Pompidou in Paris. Every Zanotta product is entirely made in Italy, reflecting attention to aesthetics, originality, and functionality. In 2023, Zanotta was acquired by Cassina, marking a new chapter in its history and becoming part of the Haworth Lifestyle division.
