Nova Milanese, May 2025 - Zanotta reinforces its aesthetic language with Riga-Riga, the new collection by French designer and artist Pierre Charpin. The collection includes a striking decorative table, a sideboard and a cupboard, available in different sizes and two color variations.

With Riga-Riga, the design gesture merges with the precision of artisanal inlay work to form a distinctive geometric pattern, born from the contrast between ash wood and polished coloured glass elements. This highly expressive motif gives the collection its name, transforming surfaces into true decorative compositions and adding depth and rhythm to the volumes.

This new collaboration with Zanotta follows the one that began in 2002 with the creation of Girotondo and Adorno. At the time, it was about exploring an 'artistic' approach to design, primarily focused on the search for form and colour. That research continues today, aiming to develop an even simpler, more distilled response with a strong visual impact” - says Pierre Charpin

The table stands out for its open-pore lacquered ash top, available in two versions: black, with back-painted glass inlays in mint and sky tones; or amaranth, paired with ivory and coral glass inlays. The table’s cylindrical legs reflect the geometric purity of the entire design, emphasising its compositional rigour.

The cupboard and the sideboard both echo the visual language of the table, featuring doors with the same graphic design. The minimal interior includes extra-clear glass shelves and, upon request, a neutral-tone LED lighting system.

The volumes of these two new pieces are defined by great simplicity, almost archetypal, both in the table and the sideboard. The decorative pattern follows the constructive logic of a surface made with wooden slats. A subtle play of displacement creates the rhythm and uniqueness of the pattern”  - Pierre Charpin

With Riga-Riga, Pierre Charpin interprets the identity and radical spirit of Zanotta through a style that transcends the boundaries of design and ventures into the realm of art. A distinctive collection where decoration becomes structure and material becomes color.
