Within the fully renovated Flagship Store, Zanotta presents its latest products designed in collaboration with Vincent Van Duysen, Pierre Charpin, Francesca Lanzavecchia, Christian Woo, Muller Van Severen, Calvi Brambilla and Zaven. Nova Milanese, April 3 2025 - One year after its inauguration, the Zanotta flagship store on Via Durini in Milan reveals a fresh new look for Milan Design Week 2025. Colour, a longstanding hallmark of the brand, is reinterpreted with a new palette, setting the stage for a collection that embraces the concept of total living. From 7 to 13 April 2025, the store showcases a wide range of new products joining the Zanotta catalogue: from Vincent Van Duysen’s emphasis on comfort to Pierre Charpin’s graphic and artistic explorations, alongside innovative seating solutions and the brand’s significant historical legacy, brought to life through iconic re-editions.

The revamped flagship store layout features the Riga-Riga sculptural table and sideboard, the result of a collaboration with French designer and artist Pierre Charpin. Both pieces showcase a handcrafted glass inlay pattern, where the materials are designed to translate shapes and colors. The contrast between ash wood and the polished coloured glass elements creates rhythm and three-dimensionality, positioning the Riga-Riga collection within an artistic realm.

Zanotta also introduces new collaborations, including the one with Belgian designer Vincent Van Duysen, who created the modular Fedrigo sofa system. Every element of the system is carefully crafted to offer maximum comfort and a true sense of well-being. The backrest naturally merges with the armrests, creating a cozy embrace, while the cushions enhance ergonomic support. Generous proportions further emphasise the perception of softness, making Fedrigo both inviting and profoundly comfortable. Sustainability is at the core of Fedrigo’s design, featuring a structure made of plywood and expanded polyurethane with recycled polyols CIRCULARREFOAM®. The recycled PET upholstery is secured with Velcro, eliminating adhesives and enabling complete disassembly for efficient recycling at the end of its life cycle.

A longstanding bestseller in the Zanotta collection, the William sofa by Damian Williamson is reimagined this year with an updated version: the William+, featuring greater depth and technical modifications that enhance comfort while maintaining the essential yet innovative aesthetic of a product that has captivated generations of design enthusiasts. This project, the designer’s final work before his untimely passing, stands as a valuable legacy of his talent and design vision.

Building on last year's collaboration with Muller Van Severen, the Z24 Books is a new freestanding bookcase available in two heights. Designed for versatility, it can be placed against a wall or positioned at the center of a room as a divider. The bookcase's glossy lacquered metal sides feature the iconic zig-zag pattern, creating a strong visual and sculptural impact. This element harmoniously combines with fixed, natural oak shelves, resulting in a refined material contrast between the solidity of wood and the visual lightness of metal. The balanced repetition of triangular forms, thoughtfully arranged, generates a captivating rhythmic pattern, resulting in a mesmerising play of light and shadow, adding depth and dynamism to the piece.

This year, the collaboration with Muller Van Severen expands further, enriching the Z24 collection with new elements, including three chests of drawers, where the iconic zig-zag motif is reinterpreted horizontally. Varying in size, color, and angle, these elements seamlessly integrate into the collection, creating a cohesive and recognisable family of furniture in which each piece retains its unique character. This design harmony strengthens the visual impact of Z24, highlighting its ability to enhance any space, from the living area to the bedroom.

Historically a pioneer in discovering new talent, Zanotta establishes a new collaboration with Canadian artist Christian Woo, presenting a vibrant series of side tables and poufs with essential shapes and a radical style, bringing his aesthetic into the living world for the first time.   The Zymmo collection features bold and essential pieces, rooted in the simple honesty of the form. Archetypal shapes, executed exceptionally and free from visual or contextual noise, give rise to a timeless beauty.

Another standout in the new collection is Yori-Kiri, a sculptural lounge chair designed by long-time collaborator Francesca Lanzavecchia, accompanied by a matching pouf. Its sleek metal base ensures both stability and a commanding presence while discreetly housing a swivel mechanism for seamless movement without compromising elegance. This distinctive piece embodies the dialogue between craftsmanship and innovation: the reclining mechanism is seamlessly integrated, offering an intuitive and natural experience, while sculpted shapes and tailored details enhance its iconic character. With generous padding, a bold silhouette and a playful essence, Yori-Kiri is a true homage to comfort.

Zanotta’s Art Directors, Calvi Brambilla, introduce the Nellee chair, defined by essential forms and upholstery in fabric or leather, designed to complement elaborate tables with a strong visual presence.

Completing Calvi Brambilla’s new designs is the Ettaro carpet, a hand-knotted creation in wool and cotton. Its two-level structure adds a sense of three-dimensionality, creating a rhythmic interplay of volumes and geometric patterns reminiscent of a ploughed field.

In collaboration with the Venetian duo Zaven, Zanotta presents the new Low Bol side tables, inspired by the iconic legs design of the Bol table. Available in two heights, the tables feature the same concave section that allows for creative combinations, creating dynamic configurations within the living space.

Similarly, they introduce the new V-Bol vases, which take inspiration from the legs of the Bol table as well, adapting the characteristic silhouette into four different variations. Each vase is offered in a distinct color, allowing for versatile combinations both among themselves and with other products from the Zanotta collection.

Alongside these new releases, Zanotta continues to honour the great masters of the past by reintroducing iconic designs into its collection, such as the Marcuso table, designed by Marco Zanuso in 1969. A testament to Zanotta’s engineering expertise, which was the first to use an innovative technology to bond metal to crystal. The Marcuso table returns in its original version with a stainless steel structure and crystal top, available in round diameters of 120 cm and 150 cm. Alongside this reissue, two new variants are presented, also available in the round version: one with a lacquered MDF top – available in glossy and matte ton-sur-ton finishes with central metal legs – and the other with a Calacatta Oro marble top, which can be paired with any leg color. Another significant reissue is the expansion of the Cuculia range by Alessandro Mendini, with the introduction of a new bowl, further enriching this iconic collection of containers with an unmistakable design.

Finally, Zanotta celebrates its most playful design icon, the Sacco armchair, now available in the new Tux fabric, which boasts a vibrant palette of fresh colours. Designed in 1968 by Piero Gatti, Cesare Paolini, and Franco Teodoro, Sacco has remained a symbol of informal, versatile, and ergonomic seating. Awarded the ADI Compasso d’Oro for lifetime achievement in 2020, Sacco has always been the epitome of informal, versatile, irreverent, free, soft and ergonomic design. In recent years, it has been at the heart of prestigious fashion collaborations, including the latest with Bottega Veneta in 2024. A timeless classic with ever-growing relevance, Sacco continues to embody the spirit of radical Italian design on a global scale.

ABOUT FRANCESCA LANZAVECCHIA
Daring, eclectic, unconventional, and empathetic. This is Francesca Lanzavecchia's approach to design. Born in Pavia in 1983, she graduated in Industrial Design from the Politecnico di Milano and then attended the Master's program in Conceptual Design at the Design Academy in Eindhoven, where she graduated with honors in 2008. In Eindhoven, her vision of design began to take shape as a prismatic and multifaceted discipline, a universal visual alphabet capable of shaping the existing with poetic and subversive elegance. For her, being a designer means being a researcher, engineer, artisan, and fabulists of life stories, such as those expressed by her projects. These projects serve as both functional and symbolic extensions of ourselves, carrying with them stories, gestures, and daily rituals that create a personal and emotional connection. From furniture to product design to interior design, her collections reflect a methodological and professional inclination towards Universal Design and the creation of products that are truly accessible to all categories of people. Francesca is a storyteller, a restless aesthete, and a nomadic-inspired designer. In 2010, she co- founded Lanzavecchia + Wai, a multidisciplinary design studio with Hunn Wai.
